Leo Steele
A New York City native, Leo is a filmmaker, artist and youngest son of a family of painters, designers, and writers. He was raised in the East Village in Manhattan and now divides his time between Harlem and Brooklyn. His interests include drawing and illustration alongside his passion for narrative storytelling through filmmaking.
Leo graduated Academy for Careers in Television & Film (ACTvF) in Long Island City Queens in (Spring 2021), as a Member of the National Honor Society and as a participant in ACTvF’s Honor’s Production Program. Leo is currently studying a major in Film/Television and a minor in Sequential Art at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah Georgia, (Class of 2025).
Two of his short films have also won awards in the Museum of the Moving Image Film Festival, (2020) and one in the All American High School Film Festival (2020), based in New York City.
Leo has completed internships at The Apollo Theatre (2020) and Next Step Pictures (2019) also based in New York City.
Leo is a former member of Scouts BSA Troop 422 (2015-2017) and has engaged in community projects for Dress for Success Worldwide.
